Ikion Diving gives you the opportunity to attend a diving course providing PADI and CMAS/IDA dive education according to the Greek and consequently the European and international standards, as well as to the instructions of the European Union as regards diving as a sport and as a means of recreation. We can offer dive courses of all levels to the level of assistant instructor in 3 different languages: Greek, English and German.

Ikion Diving also organizes and offers dives by the shores of Alonnisos and the nearby islands (supervised guided dives) under its supervision and with guide.

Our goal is to offer individual dive education with an emphasis on safety, an awareness of the environment and a sense of adventure in exploring the underwater world.

CMAS/IDA
1.
CMAS/IDA 1*

The first level in dive education, with an emphasis on safety and problem solution under the water and at the sea surface.

The student shall follow theory in physics, physiology, dive medicine, as well as with diving planning and use of decompression tables. They will accomplish skills like moving efficiently through the water and handling scuba equipment.

Our goal is to dive to depths 8 – 25m safely, always under the supervision of a qualified instructor and after having succeeded the exams.

Duration: 5-7 days.

 
2.
CMAS/IDA 2**

The candidate must have successfully completed 1* CMAS, or an equivalent level of the international confederation recognized by CMAS. The course shall consist of a thorough examination of diving theory with further chapters in physiology, dive medicine, decompression tables, planning, rescuing and underwater orientation. It comprises 6 dives in 12 - 25 m, with a safety limit of 30 meters.

On completion the candidate will be qualified for diving with a fellow scuba diver of the same or a superior skill level, without the direct supervision of an instructor or a dive leader.

Duration: 5 days

 
3.
CMAS/IDA 3*** (DIVE LEADER)

This is the highest distinction in diving, corresponding with the students’ increased experience. The course shall prepare the students to deal with underwater problems’ solution, to have the full responsibility of the organization of dives expanding their knowledge.

Dive leader course prepares the candidates to be able to lead their team safely in the underwater world and shall be in position to take the correct decisions. This skill demands an excellent theoretical and practical training, as well as experience.

To attend the course the candidate must have executed 50 dives, successfully passed the test and attended courses of underwater navigation and rescuing.

Duration: The course’s duration is of approximately 14 days and it is the first step to become a dive professional.

1.
PADI OPEN WATER DIVER

The first level in dive education, with an emphasis on safety and problem solution under the water and at the sea surface.

The course comprised of theory, including a final written exam, practical skill sessions and diving. The students will follow dive planning and the use of decompression tables. They will accomplish skills like moving efficiently through the water and handling scuba equipment.

Our goal is to dive to depths 8 -18m safely, always under the supervision of a qualified instructor.

Duration: 4-6 days


2.
PADI ADVANCED - OPEN WATER
 

The second level of PADI comprised of 6 dives, three of them obligatory. The first one is a check dive executed by the instructor and the student, the second one is the deep dive (30 m) and the third one is underwater navigation.

The other three dives may be chosen from the list below:

  • Boat Diving
  • Drift Diving
  • Night Diving
  • Peak performance Bouyancy
  • Search and Recovery
  • Underwater Naturalist

3.
PADI RESCUE DIVER

To participate in the rescue course students must hold a first aid certification (medical first aid). In case they do not hold such a certification Ikion diving and its trained instructors can offer it.

In this level the diver is taught rescue methods and first aid both for himself and for other divers. The course comprises of theory, including a final written exam, practical skill sessions and rescue scenarios which the student diver must handle adequately.

Duration: 3-5 days

PADI DIVE MASTER (DIVE LEADER)

This is the highest distinction in diving. corresponding with the students’ increased experience. The course shall prepare the students to deal with underwater problems’ solution, to have the full responsibility of the organization of dives expanding their knowledge.
